What Restriction Checker does
Amazon does not let every seller list every product. Some brands and categories are gated, some are open in New but closed in Used, and the answer differs from one seller account to the next. A product one seller can list freely may be closed to another account entirely.
Restriction Checker answers that question for your account, for a whole list of ASINs at once. Paste in the ASINs, choose a marketplace, and each one comes back as eligible, approval needed, or not eligible, condition by condition.
How it works

The seller authorises their own Amazon selling account, and can revoke that access from Seller Central at any time.

Amazon returns no restriction for this account and condition. The seller can create the listing.
Approval needed
The product is gated for this account. Amazon offers an approval route, so the seller can apply before committing to stock.
Not eligible
Amazon does not allow this account to list the product in that condition, with no approval path offered.

A seller can only check a marketplace their own Amazon selling account is registered in. Restriction results are specific to that account and can change at any time, so the tool returns Amazon’s live answer rather than a stored one.
How Restriction Checker uses Amazon data
- What we call. With the seller’s authorisation, Restriction Checker queries Amazon’s Selling Partner API for the listing restrictions that apply to that seller’s account for each ASIN submitted, plus the product’s title, brand and category from the Amazon catalogue so the seller can confirm they are looking at the right item.
- Who sees it. Results are shown only to the authenticated seller who requested them. They are not shown to other users, published, aggregated into public data, sold, or shared with third parties.
- What we store. Restriction results are stored against the seller’s own account so they can refer back to earlier checks. They stay private to that seller and are not pooled, published or resold. This tool handles no customer, order or other personally identifiable information.
- Revoking access. Sellers can disconnect Restriction Checker in Seller Central at any time, which immediately ends our access to their account data.
Common questions
Why does my result differ from another seller’s?
Listing restrictions are set per selling account. Approvals you already hold, your account health and your selling history all affect what Amazon returns, which is why the check has to run against your own account.
Does “approval needed” mean I will be approved?
No. It means Amazon offers an approval route for that product and condition. The outcome of that application is Amazon’s decision, not ours.
How many ASINs can I check at once?
Paste a list and the tool checks them together, with a summary count at the top and a card per ASIN below.
Can I check a marketplace I do not sell in?
No. Restrictions are specific to a selling account, so the check runs against the marketplaces your own account is registered in.
